Eligible hearing-impaired children and adults of all ages are welcome to choose NYU Cochlear Implant Center for:
- Evaluation to determine candidacy for a cochlear or brainstem implant
- Related surgery at Tisch Hospital of the NYU Langone Medical Center
- Pre-operative and operating room radiologic studies to ensure correct device placement
- Device choice and an explanation of Advanced Bionic, Cochlear Corp and MedEl devices
- Both pre- and post-operative speech and language evaluation and therapy
- Educational recommendations and support for children
- Intraoperative device monitoring to ensure proper device function
- Device programming by expert cochlear implant audiologists - at the NYU Cochlear Implant Center and in schools on a regular basis
- On-going device and performance monitoring
